TODAY'S LISTING : AN INCREDIBLE SILVER HANDHELD MIRROR WITH JADE !!!

Up for sale, from a recent client in New York, is this 20th century made ornate Chinese gilt silver hand mirror that showcases an incredible 19th century large white oval jade plaque on its back. The white jade plaque is depicting a scene with what seems to be a young lady and a man, possibly standing on clouds by a mountain. Furthermore, the plaque's depiction is a carved high relief, and is surrounded by 6 green jadeite insets along with 2 beautiful pink precious stones. The gilt silver mirror handle is incised with various Chinese religious utensils with a wispy cloud (or ribbon) motif. The design and base of the circular mirror is cleverly supported by two lucky bats that connect the base of the mirror to its intricate handle. The handle on the reflective side is marked "SILVER" towards the bottom, along with a gorgeous carved-in flower. On the flip side of the handle is the white jade that features a well-carved dragon head at both the top and bottom of the handle, with a very smooth middle. Cosmetically, in the smooth part of the handle's back, there is a small diagonal mark, but it's not too deep. As for the mirror itself, it is horizontally cracked in the middle, fracturing into about 3 different pieces. However, in the grand scheme of things, it is not a major problem, as the mirror can easily be replaced with a good mirror material and appear brand new at the end of the day.

The item is as you can see in the photos, in an overall EXCELLENT condition!!! Please remember to take into consideration the easily repairable cracked mirror piece. Aside from the crack, the main parts of the mirror are remarkably amazing!
