~~This is an gorgeous example of a French hand-carved bookcase or "Hunt"  cabinet~~~this cabinet has it all~~~ a combination of Black Forest with Jacobean style doors~~~3 "roaring" lions on the crown and 3 on the lower cabinet drawers with lion's masks on each door! OVER 8 feet tall!  Exquisitely carved frieze adorned by fruit and nut carvings on sides. Beautiful original "wavy" 

glass doors have intricately carved arched "cathedral" surrounds and are in excellent condition with no breaks or cracks.

Notice the detailed Jacobean style carvings~~~there are crosses in the labyrinth under the lion's heads on lower cabinet doors!  Lower cabinet has two (2) hand cut, dovetailed drawers and one interior shelf.  Upper cabinet has three (3) adjustable/removable carved edge shelves with raised plate grooves ~~~perfect for displaying antique plates, collectibles and books. This piece would also make an exceptional gun cabinet! Beautiful, rich oak patina with original key. Please note that old locking mechanisms are often finicky and never guaranteed . There are some age-appropriate separations to the interior of the cabinet as would be expected for a piece of this age. This is a high quality example of the detailed craftsmanship of the era and would make a wonderful family heirloom for today and for future generations. So
